What is the point?

Your parents send you a number "Talk to her", they say "It is time you got serious about getting married" and you think to yourself "She's not gonna like me at the end" so, what's the point? Next day, you get a call from the same number "My parents asked me to talk to you", she says and then opens herself up to you like a never ending book and you think to yourself "She's probably always like this" so, what's the point? Now you've decided to do a video call "You're late and you don't get a lot of chances with me", she says and you spend the next three hours talking to her who is instantly feeling comfortable with you and you think to yourself "She doesn't really like my sense of humor" so, what's the point? Not just that, the recent layoffs from all these tech giants -- Google, Amazon and Microsoft -- are they worth it? Are they saving the company at all from a financial crisis? At least it doesn't look like that in the short term, right? It may be a move to reshuffle the market with new high quality staff, right? Anyway, I d...
