My Encounter with DEATH !
I was walking down a muddy path in a dense forest. I do not remember the time or even the date. It was dark and i was only able to see right in front of me. I had a flashlight with me but using flashlight at night would have attracted hunting animals. I was searching for a tree i guess. It was my way out of the forest. I had marked it before entering the forest so that i do not forget the way. My family did not know I entered the forest. I had told them that I'd be back by evening, but now I was thinking that they must be getting worried about me. Why did I ever enter this forest ? I decided to move some distance in the same direction and then change my path in search of the tree. Then I saw the tree which I had marked. Ohh what a relief ! I moved towards it and then something stung me on my ankle. Oh My GOD ! It was a snake ! I had stepped on the snake and so it bit me. The first thought that came to my mind was that I was about to die ! Then I thought of tying a string around my ankle so that the venom does not spread. I moved back a little and then changing my path a bit, I started to move towards the tree. I remember little about what happened next but I felt that a snake bit me again at alomst the same place I had been bit before ! I got startled and moved back again. I changed my path and decided to move towards the tree again. This time I took the flashlight in my hand so as to not step on any more snakes. As I moved forward, I saw a sight that i remember till date. I saw the most fearsome sight I had ever seen in my lifetime. A snake was staring at me, ready to strike, whatever direction I chose to move on. I did not remember what I thought next but I tried to run towards the tree by avoiding the snake in the best possible way I could but got bit by at at about the same place. So I moved backwards. I decided that i would find out another path out of the forest and not take this path. I remember looking at my ankle at that moment, which had been bitten by the same snake three times in a row, and found out that nothing had happened. I could only see the three bit marks of the snake. I looked back, and saw the snake following me. This sight blew the wits out of me. I could barely stand. What had I done to get such a punishment. I thought of running, but everytime i tried, the snake moved at the same pace and was always right behind me. This was getting wierd. How could the snake move at the same speed at which I run ? Next, I saw the snake pounce on me and bite my ankle at the same place again. The snake surely was something, but what I did not understand was why it was after me ? I freed my leg again from the snake and ran as fast as i could. I turned around and flashed my torch around to see if the snake was still behind me. I saw nothing and then everything ! The snake pounced on me again, this time at the height of my chest and with the flashlight all I saw was it's mouth wide open, showing it's fearsome teeth ready to bite me. Only GOD could have saved me at that moment and He did ! Suddenly, my father hit the snake hard with a tree branch. I fell backwards and the snake fell down right where I had been standing before. My father put the tree branch on the snake's body so that it is not able to move and the struck it by a knife right through it's neck ! He picked me up and as i was thanking him for saving me, slapped me twice and then started crying. I had been crying since my encounter with the snake. He asked me to show him where I had been bit, so, I raised my ankle on a high tree branch and pulled up my jeans, just to find no mark of that fearsome snake's bite ! I remember that I had been bit thrice by the same snake, but here I had no mark of it ? Where had all the bite marks gone ? So, me and my father walked back to our house. I was feeling no pain on my ankle. This was going wierd, very wierd ! Next thing I remember I woke up at about seven in the morning. I went to my father and asked him if he had hurt himself the previous day. To my surprise he did not remember a thing about what had been my encounter with death ! Was it all a dream ? I pulled up my pyajamas to see my ankle. There they were, the three bite marks of that snake, and the string still tied. My leg was swolled till the place that string was tied. Did it all happen ?
