The Horror
I have been roaming around all day doing nothing. What do I do now ? I'm bored ! I do not want to start something new or something which might take more than 2-3 hours to complete, and I do not want to study for my exam right now. I just don't know what to do.
It is December and I have exams all over again. I hate exams. It is like the world turned upside down for you. You can concentrate on nothing but the subject you have an exam for next and when you don't want to study for that subject, you do nothing. Exams are such a boring time. Why do I have to test a knowledge that I have acquired ? Why don't people understand that practical application of the degree I will be receiving next semester will be more important than the degree itself. I have to slog through every thing in my bookshelf through the year and prove to my juniors that I am not the one they want to make their role model. It is so difficult to study during exams, specially for someone who understands every topic and finds it useless to study something I know again and again. This said, I am bored to death ! Now I do not know why I do not aspire to be like the toppers in my class, but I think I am better off being me.
The doorbell rings and I got off my chair to reach it. I don't know who it was I allowed in my house, but he had a great suit. He was about 6 feet tall and had a heavy voice. I think he hadn't shaved that morning and seemed to be in a hurry in whatever he was doing. I think he had been walking for too long since he had a limp while he got inside the house. Maybe he was trying to not step on one side of his foot due to show bite. He was thin and seemed a lot tired yet he was determined to get into the house. With him was another shorter man, about my height who was a little plump and it seemed like he had been working out. He had a notepad in his hand and was carrying a bag on his shoulder.
The two men came in and sat down quickly. The taller one asked me to bring everyone in the house outside where they were seated in a tone that made me worried. I hurried inside and in about a moment almost everyone understood that it was something that needs to be worried about. As far as I remember, it was me, my father and some other people I cannot properly recall sitting right in front of the two people eager to listen to what they had to say. The taller man started talking when he was assured that everyone was out and sitting in front of him. He said that most people in this region are in grave danger, since one of the scientists, while experimenting on a new type of disease, released a rare element in the atmosphere.
"Now, this element spreads quickly and has been harming almost all of the population in the city. I and my partner have been given the antidote, but even we may not last long if too many people start getting affected. Yes I think you are hoping we will be giving you the antidote, but unfortunately, we could only make a few bottles which have been given to our staff, who are moving around the city in order to inform everyone about the crisis.", said the taller man. Everyone in the room had pale faces. I was not able to think anything except death. The taller man then continued, "But, there is also a bright side to this. The element is not a threat to everyone and there are some abilities in some people which will help them fight against this disease." The shorter man took out a device from his bag and the taller man continued, "All of you will be tested with this device and we will let you know who all need to stay as far from this city as possible and who can stay here and help us save those affected."
So, he called everyone one by one and puts this device on their hand. I don't know how or why, but the device showed a number and the taller man decided which person to let stay, and which person should now be running for their life. As everyone was tested, I and my father were tested to be immune to the element and had to go to the nearest hospital in order to be able to help save any person affected and the two men started to leave. As they opened the door, someone in the house started vomiting. A few seconds later everyone was vomiting or groaning in pain. The men instructed us to take all of them to the nearest hospital. My father offered to pick up someone, when he tried to pounce on him. I got scared and kicked him away from my father. The two men together said, "Okay, now is the time to run !" At first I did not understand what they meant, but as things proceeded, I learnt exactly what they meant. They knew that all of the people, who were not immune to the element, were turning into zombies, and they had taken the required precautionary measures. But for us both, it was too late, and even though I had been closer to the door, I wouldn't leave the house without my father.
Both of us kept struggling against all those trying to bite us. Strange, a few minutes ago, these people knew exactly who we were but now they did not have any idea of who they themselves are. There was a lot of struggling to save ourselves from the relatives now turned into monsters. And then, just like in some bollywood movie, I heard gunshots and a man jumping in the air entered the house, randomly firing bullets at the monsters. I pounced down to the floor to keep of the shots, but my father was still struggling with some of those monsters. With the gunshots being fired and my father struggling around with them, I started shouting on the top of my voice, "Don't shoot him, he's immune, don't shoot him, don't please !", and the gunshots stopped. I got up to look for my father. He had also fallen down to the ground, so I ran to him crying out, "No, please no, please no, please..." I took off the dead body that was on top of him and checked for any bullets shots on his body. There were none, he had just passed out. He got up and I started to say to him, "I cannot ...", and I opened wide my eyes.
I realised this was a dream, and I had been crying while dreaming all of that. I looked around, my father was not around. It was dark outside, so I looked at the clock. It showed 5:05 A.M. I got up from my bed, went to my father's room. He had been sleeping. I heaved a sigh of relief. I opened my mouth to say, "I cannot live without you daddy, never leave me alone !"

Hi There!
Hope you are doing great!
Thank you for taking a second to write down your thoughts on the stories that I write.
I would love your thoughts on how you felt while reading it.
I know for myself, that your kind words would inspire me to write more, and bring more such stories that you enjoy reading.
But, I also know that I would love it even more when I get a note which finds flaws, because I would take it as a challenge to improve in the next story that I write.
In any case, I consider myself to be honored to hear your thoughts while/after reading my blog!
Thank You!
