He's moving on... | Heart and Brain in conflict | Part 2

He started working again. Threw his phone on the bed on the other side of the room, cursing himself for looking at it again. "I have to stop", he thought to himself. "It has been a month, and I cannot just keep thinking about her. I need to move on!", he murmured. It is tough, if you think about it. The matters of the heart, are difficult to understand. How do you move on ? Did it ever occur to you that moving on is so difficult. And still, everyone in this world has to go through it. Some people need to move on from a relationship which lasted a whole six years, whereas others move on from relationships lasting only two weeks. Obviously the time you spent does not change the quality of the relationship. Even a two-week relationship sometimes can overpower a six year relationship in quality. "If I keep the phone away, maybe it will work. I just have to resist looking at the phone. Even if she messages, I won't look now!", he pledged to himself.

He sat down on his work station! "I have to complete the python script, otherwise unnecessarily the project will get delayed. If only my mind wasn't occupied by other things!" He turned on his laptop, the two monitors attached to it lit up. Slowly he typed his passcode, not interested in what he was doing. Once all the applications loaded, it took him a minute arranging windows on desktops, so the browser window is on the screen directly in front of him. Then, as if a supernatural power was controlling him, he typed we on the browser window and hit enter, which opened web.whatsapp.com. No one has messaged within the past minute! Not even her!

"Does she not feel the same about me ?", thoughts started popping in his head. "I thought we had something, but it feels like only I felt something, and she never did!" He knew all these thoughts clouded his judgement, but he couldn't help feeling it. It wasn't something he wanted to feel about her, and he did not, but in that moment he was feeling just too lonely! He closed his eyes, and tried to relax in his chair. He wanted to meditate for a while, just let everything go, calm down for a minute, distract himself, something! But, his mind was too restless to relax. He tried to lift his hand to type, and his hand started shaking heavily. So he put his hand on the armrest and tried to stop the shaking by rubbing with the other. We understand that this is not going to go away just by rubbing the hand, the core problem is somewhere else altogether, but he doesn't yet understand that!

"How do I move on ? This has already taken a month of my time, and I haven't chatted with her one bit, and I am still as restless as the first day! This was not what I expected! We were just friends, should have left it at that! Shouldn't even have talked to her about any of this. This is now killing me, and I have no one to talk to about it, because no one will understand. No one will understand why this happened, when even I have no clue at all! Maybe I just need to calm down and focus on something else. A movie should help, or I can call a friend out for a game of Fifa maybe! That should distract me enough, right ?"

He got up from the chair, walked up to the bed, and picked up his phone. "Hi", said a notification. He double tapped to open Tinder and find out more!

Hi There!

Hope you are doing great!

Thank you for taking a second to write down your thoughts on the stories that I write.

I would love your thoughts on how you felt while reading it.
I know for myself, that your kind words would inspire me to write more, and bring more such stories that you enjoy reading.
But, I also know that I would love it even more when I get a note which finds flaws, because I would take it as a challenge to improve in the next story that I write.

In any case, I consider myself to be honored to hear your thoughts while/after reading my blog!

Thank You!
