The third date | Heart and Brain in conflict | Part 3

"Could I please walk you home this time ?", he asked.

She chuckles, and says, "Okay! Just this once, I will allow it."

He chuckled. We know that chuckle means he's going to ask again, and her chuckle means that she likes him asking for it every time. Not sure if he understands that yet.

They start walking. He's looking for topics for conversation, this is his third date with her, and he likes talking to her. When you like someone, you're not able to gauge their response to your liking accurately. At the same time, he is more logical than emotional, and he simply does not understand emotions as well. He is just hoping that she will communicate that she likes him, because he dreads bringing up any topic that makes him talk about his emotions.

"By the way, this is the first time I'm going out with someone I matched on Tinder!", he said, finally getting something to start a conversation with, "or technically, the third."

She looks at him and asks playfully, "Does that mean you like it ?"

He stops while walking, unable to answer that question. In an attempt to talk, he starts stammering.

"No. I mean, yes. I mean, NO. Uhhhhhh... maybe ?", is all he is able to say.

She laughs.

"I know what you are doing.", he smiles, and paces up to her. "I'm sorry, I just blank out sometimes when people put me on the spot."

"I understand...", she smiles at him, walks closer and puts his arm around her, "and I think it is cute!"

He feels a strong chill going down his spine, and boy, did that feel different! Fortunately, he's seen enough romantic movies on Netflix to know that he should just hold her tight.

They walk together for a while, not saying anything, both enjoying the warmth of each other on that chilly night. She's trying to match his steps. He's just wondering that his mouth might be smelly.

She puts her left hand on his chest, rubbing it lightly.

"You smell nice", she says, breaking the silence. He smiles at her, and lightly kisses her forehead.

"Thank you! Your hair smells nice too!", he responds. She smiles brightly!

"Thank you!", she's very happy now, and he can see it on her face.

They are almost at her doorstep. Both of them are liking the snuggle they are in. She can feel the warmth of his simplistic personality and the way he carries himself. He likes how he can still feel a chill down his spine sometimes. Both stumble because of a bad step taken by him, but get back the rhythm of walking together in a second.

"Well. This is me!"

"I had a wonderful time tonight, thank you for another chance to this!"

"I had a wonderful time as well, thank you for trying!"

Both of them smiled at each other. She moves closer to hug him. He hugs her tight! Both stay in the hug for a moment. We could hear a bunch of crickets chirping around them, but, they only felt each other in that moment. He moved his hands to her cheeks, tucked her hair behind her ears and lightly kissed her on the right cheek. Both of them could feel their hearts beating! Both were dreading it and loving it at the same time! It was scarily exciting! He moved his head back an inch. She looked up, and both locked their eyes towards each other. He moves forward half an inch and holds himself. She follows. Both their lips touch, and he moves back a centimeter. She opens her eyes and looks at him again. He's moving forward for a kiss. She closes her eyes and lets it flow! Their lips touch, and he slightly kisses her on her lips. She reciprocates. In a second, both of them are passionately kissing each other!

"Wow!", she says softly, as he rests his forehead on hers after kissing her lips for the last time that night.

He smiles, rubbing his nose against hers.

"I do still have to go!", she says, again softly.

"I know, that is what I don't want right now...", he responds softly.

Both stay in that moment for a while.

"You should go..."

"I should. Yes!"

"I did have a wonderful time tonight!"

She smiles, turns around and starts walking towards her home. His phone starts buzzing in his pocket. Probably his mother calling him about his whereabouts. He waits for her to look back before reaching the door of her house, and starts reaching for his phone. He gets the phone out of his pocket and looks at it.

His expressions change, his heart starts beating wildly, he doesn't know what to do! He's scared, and he looks up to find she is giving him a flying kiss. He smiles back, but he cannot control the wave of pain that just rolled over his chest. His eyes are wide open. She's gone, and he's still standing there looking at his phone.

He picks up, heart still beating wildly.

"I need your help!", the voice on the other end also sounds like his long lost love calling almost after two months of their last conversation!

Hi There!

Hope you are doing great!

Thank you for taking a second to write down your thoughts on the stories that I write.

I would love your thoughts on how you felt while reading it.
I know for myself, that your kind words would inspire me to write more, and bring more such stories that you enjoy reading.
But, I also know that I would love it even more when I get a note which finds flaws, because I would take it as a challenge to improve in the next story that I write.

In any case, I consider myself to be honored to hear your thoughts while/after reading my blog!

Thank You!
